Friend shields 10-year-old from harm during Minnesota school shooting by physically covering him with his own body.

In a tragic turn of events, a shooting occurred at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis during Mass on Wednesday morning. The suspected shooter, identified by authorities as Robin Westman, approached the side of the church and fired dozens of rounds through the windows.

According to reports, Westman was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. The shooting resulted in at least two students being killed and more than a dozen more injured, with 14 of the injured being children. Two of the children who were injured are currently in critical condition.

Among the victims was a 10-year-old student named Weston Halsne, who was present during the shooting. Weston was saved by a friend who laid on top of him during the shooting, but his friend was also injured. Unfortunately, the two children who died in the shooting were 8 and 10 years old.

Principal O'Hara described the shooting as a "deliberate act of violence." As of now, there is no verified information about Robin Westman being involved in any shooting incident at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Police believe the shooter killed himself after the shooting.

Weston initially thought the noise was something unusual, but ran when he heard gunshots again. The community is in shock and grief, and counselling services are being made available for students, staff, and families affected by this tragedy.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for increased safety measures in our schools and places of worship. As the investigation continues, our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.
